I *think* we are ready for small groups this week! We have made some great progress towards independence and problem solving... whew! Not a moment too soon!
I love teaching in small group. For guided reading I've looked back to some resources that are tried and true. I also see some new ideas on the horizon!
1: I reread this book every year! It is filled with reminders of best practices. Love it!
2: I have had this packet for a few years now. I am so excited to see the updates that Deanna has added. You know I am a huge fan of "I Can..." charts and her's are just what I needed!
3: Michelle's new packet is adorable! It has some great forms that I can use in planning and documentation!
4: Rachelle has also had her Guided Reading packet out for awhile. We loved using her "Roll-a-Question" activities last year. It adds the game factor to comprehension... woo hoo!
This week we will reading Humpty Dumpty as our shared reading. I found this Jack Hartman video and it cracked me up... oh yes, we are doing this next week! I'm not sure why the video is off center... Sorry Jack!
My students are loving this activity. Based on what I am hearing from you all, your students like it too. I am in the process of making a year-long version of this. So each month the board will be thematically different. In this way, I can keep this activity going all year. Because it is editable, I can make it match our current learning goals.
Here are my plans for next week!
Have a great week!
