Day 3 in the HUGE Teacher week is taking place at Blog Hoppin'.
I had grand plans to have many more photos... but we had our open house last night. I got to meet my new sweeties (and I seriously think I got the best bunch), however in the frenzy that is "the beginning of the year", I will have to skate by with a few older photos.
So the BIG idea behind today's post is "organizing for instruction." I am NOT an organized person by nature. I envy those who can walk out the door when the buses leave and have their instruction be spot on. This is NOT me... sadly.
I first want to have a clear picture of what my year will look like. I created this document to help me. You can grab this FREEBIE in my TpT store by clicking on the image.
This is my ELA guide and I love that the resources are right at my fingertips. This gives me more time to plan other parts of my curriculum. I don't have to think about what I am going to teach for word study, reader's workshop, or writer's workshop. Whew... that should make for an easier planning year.
I already have my sorts organized. I just need to pull them out of my box.
I also keep my word wall words in this box.
Here are the other resources that I have at my fingertips! (click on each image to find the source).
Each lesson is scripted so you have a base to build on. If you are unsure about how these literacy components can look in kindergarten or 1st grade, this will take the guess work out. If you are already comfortable with these components, then these lessons will add to your repertoire.
How would you like to win the following?
That is over $200.00 worth of goodies!
You will need to be QUICK!
