My plan was to show you lots of pictures of my stations, but I am a slacker!
Here are a few that were on my phone... excuse the poor quality... I had more, but I just couldn't post them because they look like I took them while I was in a moving car. Some days just feel that way.
I loved these story problem pictures!
You can find these here
and
I was just joking with my email BFF about how the last few days of school feels like the end of a VERY long family vacation in an over crowded car.
Everyone still loves each other, but there is some bickering... feelings get hurt, and patience is running low.
Can you relate?

Your centers look great. Just starting bugs. Can totally relate to everyone being a little "ouchy" lately. Warmer weather for us the next few days isn't going to help!!

I love your math work stations! I was wondering if you know of any really good phonics program for k-1. We are looking into purchasing a phonics program for our school and my principal has decided to put me in charge. Any suggestion?
ReplyDeleteI would check into Fountas and Pinnell's Phonics program. You can purchase it through Heinemann. I do not have it,but I have heard good things about it. Good luck! That is a lot of responsibility! They must trust you!
DeleteYour centers are great! I love the bugs in the jar problem!

I can TOTALLY relate to that end of the school year "overcrowded" feeling! We always say at our school that the students start the year in the honeymoon stage, it's smooth sailing for a while, and by the end they are ready for a separation!! Best to you as you finish the year strong!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Funny!! And yet, I cry every year when I walk my kids down to meet their first grade teacher.
DeleteI can soooo relate to that too! To top it all off, I have a sick baby & have missed school for the last 2 days...UGH! I hope the last few weeks of school go a little smoother!

Oh my goodness! I bet you are going crazy! I hope you baby is better!
DeleteCute centers! Love the bug jar story problem pictures! Renee
ReplyDeleteI am wondering how many of you have rest time in your full k and how is structured? I am looking for suggestions. Thanks, Michelle
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle,
DeleteI do not have rest time. I have it for the first 6 weeks of school, then I send the towels home. Others in my building continue to have it. They use that time to assess students and conduct their intervention groups. I hope that helps.
I love all the pics you always post of your centers...seems like so much work but so completely awesome! How is your math block set up? Do children rotate around the room while you meet with small groups?

I was wondering the same thing! I have math stations and reading stations in my room and for the most part they run smoothly, but I am so frustrated with their papers! Where do you have your students put their papers when they are finished and where do they put them if they are still working. You leave your stations up for a week at a time right? So what do you do if they haven't finished the paper at their stations? Do these questions make sense?
ReplyDeleteSorry you guys for taking so long to get back to you. I blogged about this a ways back... here is the link:
