Toad~ally in Love! and Excuse My Ignorance!

Pardon the cheese factor... But I love this clip art from Just So Scrappy!
I made this board game to add to my stations next week.

It is just like my Winter Friends game (which was a favorite in my class)

Here is my burning question:

Silhouette?

or

Cricket?

I want to be able to download the adorable cuttables I see on Scrappin Doodles and the SVGs and/or "cut its" I see at Lettering Delights.

You guys are smart... HELP!

  2. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my silhouette! I don't have the new big one, but I toad-ally ;) wish I did! I have the LD cut-its, and they are great. I LOVE that I can use all the fonts that I already have on my computer, and I can just buy individual cutting files and not have to buy a whole cartridge. I absolutely LOVE it!

  4. I love my Silhouette! You can use any font you own or download from the internet. You can design your own shapes, or use any clipart out there! I would never change over. It is FABULOUS! I just don't have the money to buy all the cartridges for the Cricket. I like free!!!!

  11. I have a Cricut, I love it, but the cartridges are so expensive and there are some things on them that you never use, at least with the Silhouette you only buy what you need. That's why I'll be upgrading to a Silhouette soon!

  13. To use the Svg's on the Cricut you have to buy a program for your computer that lets you use the svg files. With the program you can all use any font you want. I have the Cricut and love it, but if I didn't have already have a lot of money invested in it I think I would buy the silhouette.

  14. I would go with the Silhouette - Cricut requires an extra program (not authorized by Cricut) to cut your own 'stuff' - and if you use that program it voids the warranty on the Cricut.
I have a Cricut = I do love it - but the cartridges are expensive! I'm seriously thinking about purchasing a Silhouette (well at least dropping the hints for a birthday present first!).

  18. I have the Cricut and wish I had a Silhouette too. I didn't even know that you COULD use the Cricut with svg's. Through reading these posts I have learned that there is another software to purchase for that. It just seems like the Cricut has cost me SOOOO much money. I am planning to ask for a Silhouette for my birthday or Christmas this year. That way I will have them BOTH! Yay!

  20. I have the Silhouette original and Cameo so I didn't have to buy the billions of cartridges. I have 700+ fonts and LOVE using it. I have not gotten to use the much since getting at Christmas but What I have love love.....There is also print and cut where you can take digital images and trace them and then print (or buy already done ones at the Silhouette store) so many possibilities to name....I got mine at http://www.fotobella.com/Silhouette_Cameo_12_Digital_Craft_Cutter_p/qk-cameo.htm (with free shipping) Let me know if you have any more ?'s (I have tons of things pinned for it just not time to do them)

  22. Craft-e-corner.com has a great deal going on right now. 10% off including sale prices. I think the Silhouette is $269 there right now plus take the extra 10%. If you do standard shipping -- shipping is free!
