Daily Math Journals FREEBIE

I started REALLY using math journals last year and LOVED it!  Math journals are a great way to reinforce and review math concepts in a creative way.  Once your students get used to the process, they can be done in just a few minutes.  I had this 15 minute slot of time each day ~ during this 15 minutes my students would color their behavior day, pack up their backpack, and complete their math journal ~ we were MOVIN'!!

Click on the image to grab it from my TpT store for FREE
This download includes the labels for your students' journals, instructions on how I used the journals, and 5 prompts to get you started.

I will be adding monthly thematic prompts in a few days... but here is a little taste!

UPDATE:
I have added the complete set!

  1. Thanks so much for the math journal ideas! I ALWAYS start with math journal at the beginning of the year, but I don't seem to continue it. Do you do journaling daily? Thanks again! ~Tracy

  4. Deedee, Thank you! This download is great and it's even free. Thank you for your generosity! One hint from me: At the beginning of the year, I place a small post-it on the page each child is supposed to write on (or turn to). Since the post=it is sticking out of the book, they can easily (yeah, right!) find the correct page.

  7. Thanks Deedee for the FREEBIE... and it is on something that I am interested in doing with my kinders this year. I just don't know how to fit it all in with me trying to start math work stations too. But I have high hopes that I will get it all worked out. Thanks for your help! Desiree

  8. Thank you for the freebie!! These are the same type of math journals that I started using last year and I loved them too! There is a great site called crisscrossapplesauce.typepad.com and there are some great ideas for math journal prompts. I will look through some of my prompts that I saved from this year and try to get them up on my site. Thanks!!

  10. Thanks for the freebie. I was thinking of possibly doing the math journal for morning bell work. I was thinking I could explain the prompt the day before (of course there will need to be reminders for those who forget!) I think I will try it and see how it goes. Thanks again for your generosity.

  12. I love this...
Someone said, maybe you, that Staples will cut the notebooks in half..so I went today and had them cut, they are so cute. I am putting your label on the front of each one. This size is perfect for my little ones in the beginning of the year.
I am pretty excited to do the journaling. THaNkS.. for the "nudge" to do it!!
