My good blogging friend at Oceans of First Grade fun asked the question: Calendar Board or Promethean Board? I do not have a Promethean Board, but I do have a SMARTboard.
I love to use my SMARTboard, but I find that once the SMARTboard is closed the students are unable to reference it. I love Growing Kinders idea of students having their own Calendar Book, so I am considering this option for next year.
My feeling is that you will want to use both. What do you think? Link up to Ms. A's page. I really would like to know.
If you do have a SMARTboard, you may be interested in these FREE SMARTboard calendars.

Thanks for linking up! I think I'm sold on the calendar books...no matter which way I go.

If I had a smartboard of some kind, I would probably use that AND incorporate the books too! But, I really love my "old school" calendar routine! My kiddos run the whole thing themselves! It's 15 minutes of bliss and it's super fun/educational for my kiddos.

I've used a calendar book before and it was SOOooo time consuming! I abandoned it after one year. I will keep anchor charts posted at/in the specific math stations areas. I'm enjoying everyone's ideas!
ReplyDeleteI have used my SMARTBOARD for calendar for the past 2 years and LOVE it! It is so interactive and fun for the students. I also have a small traditional calendar wall next to it for the kids to reference throughout the day and for subs to use. I am able to link songs and activities into my SMARTBOARD activities and the kids are so engaged.
