Math Work Stations Blog Party Chapter 6 Place Value


The new common core standards ask kindergarten students to compose and decompose numbers 11-19 into tens and ones.  Chapter 6 of Debbie Diller's book addresses this standard beautifully.

Here is another activity that was discussed on p. 138 of her book.  Students will count, sort, and  discuss numbers 11-20.

This chapter is filled with practical ideas.  I liked the idea of creating a 100's chart puzzle... So simple!  This is explained on p. 141.  If you need a 100's chart... Here you go!!!
