Letter Sorting Activity and Girls RULE!!!

Click on the image to hop over to TpT!
Here is my newest Literacy Station~Friends Letter Sorting Station.  When students sort letters by their attributes, they will begin to take a critical look at the way letters are formed.

It includes 26 uppercase and lowercase letters with the paths-of-motion, sorting cards for 8 different types of sorts, and 8 different student response pages.

OK! This has AB.SO.LUTE.LY nothing to do with teaching, but I had to share a photo of my girls!  Today I picked up these 15 little ladies.  T-minus 6 months and counting for beautiful brown free-range eggs!

Name suggestions???

  1. PS- Just a thought: you could laminate the sorts and put magnetic strips on the back, use a cookie sheet (use permanent marker to make a T chart) attach a ziplock with the extra pieces and top labels to the cookie sheet and it's a great way for the kiddos to move the pieces around....and most times... it helps my firsties keep the word work center organized :0) Hope this makes sense, I'm running on little sleep! :0)

  2. Deedee, did you email this to me? I thought I made it in the first 5 and just want to make sure my email wasn't wrong if you did. Otherwise I'll buy it...but don't need it twice! ;)

When we hatched chicks I let the kids vote on the names. One of my favorites was Tater Tot. hee hee

  3. Kristin... ROAR!!! I just resent it. My email is making me VERY nervous! I am so sorry!!!!

Oh... I love Tater Tot (I like tater tots, too)! I need to get little bracelets for them so I can tell them apart.

  4. Please keep in mind these names came from five year olds; Nugget (as in chicken nuggets), Noodles (chicken noodle soup), cat (she had a cat who was scared so she called him chicken), and cinnamon (Isa Brown hen). They are very sweet. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Debbie... I think my girls are getting nervous about Nugget and Noodles! Lol! 5 year olds are the BESTEST!
