Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart- William Wordsworth
Sniff! Sniff! I am putting the final pages in my little writer's notebooks tonight. They will go home with them tomorrow. Someone used the expression "bitter-sweet" to describe this time of year and I TOTALLY agree.
However, it has been fun to thumb through their writing and see their progress.
I decide to add a little note on the back page.
Here is the note I included... WARNING: It is nothing fancy!

Oh wow!! I think this is perfect for kindergarten writers! I totally agree with you... what a journey it has been. To see a kid with no letter naming or sound production skills begin to write a message is awesome! And to witness story writing of multiple sentences is thrilling! Thank you for a very FANCY addition to my kindergarteners journals! I can't wait to use this!!
ReplyDeletePrecious, Deedee! We have purchased Lucy Caulkins Writing for next year and hope it helps our firsties become good writers. What font did you use? I love it!
ReplyDeleteBittersweet is a good way to describe it all! Thanks for sharing. Posted a link on my facebook.

Kimberly... Lucy Calkins is AWESOME! I think you will enjoy her units of study!
ReplyDeleteMy font for the insert is called "Pea Amy"... the cover is... I can't recall (Err!). I created these in August and I didn't save the file.
Leslie... Thanks for the shout-out. One of these days I am going to learn how to use my Facebook with my blog!
