Math Stations This Week

Here is a little peek into some of my math stations that I rotated in this week.
This one is from my good friend Barb at Kinderzoo. Students moved their marker on this SUPER cute game board.  They then practiced counting.  You can find it on TpT.

This is from Fran at Kindergarten Crayons... So cute!  I did not have a good ink pad, so we used paint daubers.  Hop over to her site to grab it.

This is from somebody WON.DER.FUL!  But I can't recall who... Please let me know so I can give you credit and link to your blog!  I placed plastic coins in eggs and they students totalled the amounts.

This is from Kim Adsit's Bug Math Game Pack... Love her stuff!  This one is about fair-share.  Our school laminator makes our paper curl... Eerrr!  If I won the lottery...

Okay... Tornado Watch is on and the sky is yellow!  I'm headed to the basement.... YIKES!!!

  1. No...don't wait for the lottery winnings---buy a laminator NOW! :) I got my mini laminator at Walmart for 24.99, and for 13.88 I can laminate 50 sheets of paper (or things I've cut out that equal that same size)--and its the "hard" lamination. I am LOVING IT!!! PERFECT for those latenight or weekend bursts of inspiration! I told the K teacher across the hall, and she's gotten one too! My BIGGEST thrill this year (wait..does that mean I have no life?) :)

  2. Oooh! I second the laminator!!! One of my favorite things!!! :)

  3. Out of school today because of the tornados damage to area and power out. I HATE storms - my next house WILL have a basement.
Could you email me how you set up your stations? This is my first year teaching and I do math "tubs" - same thing but I do it differently. I am looking for maybe ideas on how to change it next year

  4. We made it through the storm safely. Thank you! I am sorry to hear about your school being closed... and YES I will email you.

Liesl and Ashley... You have CHANGED my life...Oh My Gawsh! I just picked up my Scotch Laminator at the local Wal-Mart. THHH-RILLED! I'm so excited! Aren't blogs the BEST?!!

  5. Deedee---SO glad to pass on the joy! :) You've graciously (though unknowingly)shared with me, and I'm glad I could share with you! I am currently multitasking---sitting at my dining room table on my laptop with my laminator beside me! I know its spring break, but I'm getting so much done! :)
Have fun with your new 'tool' (toy) :)

  6. Deedee can you email me too on how you do math stations? This will be my first time doing math stations, this school year was my first time teaching kindergarten and I am afraid to say we did not do math stations. My students did stations in the morning for language arts but in the afternoons (math time) we did a lot of whole group activities and I couldn't quite figure out how to pull students to work with them in small groups. Of course I am finding a lot of neat ideas to try for the next group of students but I just don't quite know how to get started. I am going to get my copy of Debbie Diller's Math Stations book but I would love to know how you get them started. I love your organization for math station materials too. Any help you can give me would be wonderful. Thanks teecher4life@mail.com
